The Allure of PreLoved Designer Jewelry

One of the biggest trends to emerge from the pandemic was designer logo jewelry and today brands like Chanel, Dior and Gucci are still seeing some of their must-have baubles not only sellout but fetch top-dollar on the designer secondhand market. While the boost in sales in 2020 was due to a desire to show off style and wealth from the waist up over video calls and Zoom meetings, this statement jewelry trend — which features the names of some of the world’s most sought-after designer brands — is here to stay in 2023 and beyond.

From Chanel to Tiffany, and Van Cleef & Arpels to Hermes, shoppers simply can’t get enough of pre-owned designer jewelry with pieces like the Chanel CC Pearl and Crystal Jewelry, Dior Necklaces, Chanel CC Bangles, the Hermes H Clic Clac Bracelet, and the Van Cleef & Arpels Sweet Alhambra collection topping our lists, but logo jewelry is still capturing the hearts and earlobes of trendsetters across the globe.

Stars and socialites arrived on the red carpet of the Met Gala’s “Gilded Glamour” event displaying some of the biggest (literally and figuratively) jewelry trends of 2022, including diamond-encrusted tiaras, maximalist gems, oversized pearls, sculptural pieces, fringe chokers, knuckle rings and finger cuffs. And while logo jewelry wasn’t present on the red carpet, our trained eyes immediately recognized glowing pieces by Roberto Coin, Tiffany & Co., Versace, Cartier, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

Despite the Met Gala’s display of opulence and extravagance, jewelry trends for the rest of 2023 seem to fall into two distinct categories — demure and dramatic — where timeless pearls and diamond studs meet over-the-top embellishments and flashy logos. Today, we’re here to display nostalgia’s ever-present influence on today’s hottest monogram pieces.

MONOGRAMS & LOGOS MAKE A STATEMENT

With the popularity of logomania, it’s no surprise designers have opened up their vintage vault to bring back the letters that made them infamous… and nostalgic shoppers have scooped them right up. But one of the beautiful things about logo jewelry is that it gives individuals a piece of the luxury lifestyle — including the logos — without spending a fortune. Plus, the value will keep increasing which is a win for you and your wallet.
